The history of mankind has more than two million years. But written evidence has been preserved only for a very small part of it - over the past 5000 years. And yet there are sources that tell us about our past. These are working tools, weapons, fragments of pottery and even intact pottery, the remains of simple settlements. Some of these traces of human activity have survived to the present day. The ruins of fortresses and temples, irrigation systems, houses and streets, as well as entire cities testify to the not so distant past of our lives.
